INABILITY TO ATTEND SELECTIONS
1.
No player
will be considered for selection unless prior notification has been given, in
writing on appropriate Absent from Representative Trial form, to the
Representative Coordinator stating special circumstances; e.g. Injury/illness
to be supported by a medical certificate, or if absent due to school or other
commitments, to be supported by the appropriate documentation.
2.
Where the
above circumstances are deemed acceptable, for junior age players (12 – 14 years):
the player shall be invited to attend a squad training session where they will
be viewed by the selectors for possible inclusion into the squad.
3.
For all other
selections, where a player does not attend selections and that player believes
that special or compassionate reasons prevent the player from attending, an
Absent from Representative Trial form must be made to the Representative
Coordinator within 48 hours of the team selections. The reason(s) for
nonattendance must be disclosed and include, where appropriate, relevant
documentary evidence. The MDNA Representative Committee will determine if the
player is permitted to be considered for selection.
MEDICAL CLEARANCE
1.

player is injured and unable to attend trials, a medical clearance must be
provided from either a registered medical specialist or other treating professional
prior to the final team selection detailing the player as fully fit as at the
date of final team selection, and attached to the Absent from Representative Trial form.
2.
Where a
player is injured after squad selection
but prior to the final team selection, a medical clearance must be provided
from either a registered medical specialist or other treating professional
prior to the final team selection detailing the player as fully fit as at the
date of final team selection.
3.
No squad
player shall be considered for final team selection until a full medical
clearance is provided prior to the date of final team selection.
4.

player is injured following final team selection, a full medical clearance must
be provided from either a registered medical specialist or other treating
professional prior to the final team selection detailing the player as fully
fit as at a date 2 weeks prior to the state event for which they have been
selected. Correspondence with the Representative Coordinator regarding injuries
is compulsory.
5.

player is unable to provide this medical clearance 2 weeks prior to the date of
the state event for which they were selected the rep coordinator in
consultation with the rep committee, selectors and team coach may select a
replacement player to join the team.
