Southern Skies Tournament
The Committee and Members of Metropolitan Districts Netball Association are proud and excited to have been a part of the Southern Skies Tournament.   We welcomed  players, officials and supporters to "Wembley Park" and hoped all enjoyed the four days of challenging netball.  We would like to thank the teams from New Zealand, Malaysia, Wales and all over Australia for a fantastic week.

UMPIRE SECTION

Metro Umpire Awards
To promote Umpire Development Pathways, MDNA now has two (2) levels of umpire awards to help Clubs encourage and develop their talented umpires.

Clubs are to ensure each umpire has the necessary pre-requisites before being assessed at each level.  For MDNA awards, a candidate must have a 70% pass on the Section 1 Theory Exam.  From the Netball Qld website you can click on the Purple Online Umpire Exam Centre Section at www.netballq.org.au

Both the completed Umpire Assessment Report and the Section 1 Theory Certificate must be given to the MDNA Umpire Convenor for successful candidates to receive their relevant umpire award.

Silver Award
This MDNA award level is intended for Club umpires who are beginning to develop some umpiring skills and abilities.  Clubs are able to self-assess umpires at this level, providing there is a nationally accredited umpire available to conduct the Silver Award Umpire Assessment.

Gold Award
This MDNA award level is intended for talented Club umpires who have an interest in progressing to National Accreditation.  Clubs must organise an independent and nationally accredited umpire to conduct the Gold Award Umpire Assessment.

Note
Further information on MDNA umpire awards and national umpire accreditation is available from the MDNA Umpire Convenor at mdna@bigpnd.com
